Glacier Bear Retreat is located inside Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana.

Getting Here By Car

Glacier Bear Retreat is located at 348 Grist Road, in West Glacier, MT. From the Park entrance in West Glacier, drive through the entrance and proceed about a mile to the first stop sign. Turn left towards Apgar Village. Proceed 1/2 mile until you cross McDonald Creek. Immediately after crossing the creek take your first right onto Grist Road. Glacier Bear Retreat is the 6th house on the left hand side, 348 Grist Road.

Getting Here By Air

Fly to FCA – Kalispell: Plan your trip to arrive at Glacier Park International Airport. (24.2 miles, 34 minutes way from Glacier Bear Retreat). Delta flies nonstop from Salt Lake City and Minneapolis year round, and nonstop from Atlanta and Los Angeles seasonally. Alaska/Horizon flies nonstop from Seattle and Portland. United arrives nonstop from Denver and seasonally from Chicago and San Francisco as well. Allegiant Air flies nonstop seasonally into FCA from Oakland and from Las Vegas – and has great rates too. Rental cars are available from various national companies such as Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, Dollar and National.

Fly into MSO – Missoula: Arrive in Missoula, MT, then drive to Glacier. (3 hours, 155 miles)

Fly/Drive from GEG – Spokane: For those that are fans of Southwest Airlines, you can fly into Spokane, Washington and then drive 5 hours to reach Glacier Bear Retreat.

Getting Here By Train

Amtrak has excellent service right into West Glacier, just 2 miles from the property. Their route, called the Empire Builder, connects from Chicago to Seattle. Once you arrive, we’re happy to pick you up and bring you to the property from the train station, then bring you back to the train for your return trip home.
